Tint shift through various levels is really negligible, if any at all.Rating
Even if there is not active thermal management heat is definitely not at blistering level even at full-steam if flashlight is hand-held properly (unattended usage at more than M1 level is NOT recommended, though).
Unscrewing tailcap by a minimal amount (1/8th a turn) ensures that the flashlight will not accidentally turn on while in your pocket and I made a mental note to always make proficient use of this feature.
The battery indicator has been dramatically improved since my SC52w-L2. With the very same brand new Eneloop Pro charged a day ago and never used since then, the latter blinks twice (50% battery juice left) when the SC5c Mk II blinks four times (and rightly so). On the other hand it spotted an end-of-life Eneloop Pro, although fresh from charger. Congrats to myself: I've a new pocketable AA Ni-MH battery integrity tester.
Out in the woods nearby Lake Como, now foliage and wood grain (just to mention two examples) are rendered as deserved AND without any flattening of tridimensional view at all. In misty and foggy environments -so common in Northern Italy- my eyes are no longer taking a punishment.
I'll check how on snow ASAP, as well.
If I had to leave for a trekking route or a long trip abroad, THIS is the flashlight I'd take with myself. For sure I'd find an AA battery everywhere if needed, and I could rely upon all been said above.
Sadly enough the pocket clip had been designed by someone not properly in his/her own right mind: its retention/insertion level should be classified as jump-ready for airborne troops, if you see what I mean.
This is a call for Zebralight: make a smart and classy act. Release a SS riser with proper screw.
Full five stars with flying colors (CONS kept present).
NOTE:
2-steps for a 4000K means that the whole production of this flashlight will have a tint of 4000K +/- about 80K, with no hint of green or pink whatsoever.
