Supports Li-ion, NiMH and NiCd Chemistries
The Xtar VC8 is an 8-channel charger that supports Li-ion, NiMH and NiCd chemistry. This charger supports QC3.0 fast charging and has a maximum current of 3A for slot 1 & 8. This can be changed manually to 3A, 2A, 1A, 0.5A or 0.25A, so that the user can adjust the current to the requirements of his batteries. The Xtar VC8 uses a USB-C input current for faster charging of all batteries. Another big bonus for this battery charger is that integrated LCD screen that provides real-time information, including voltage, capacity, internal resistance and battery type. The VC8 has two user modes: quality and storage. The storage mode makes it easier to charge or discharge batteries to the rated voltage to maximize the life of your batteries, especially when they are in transport. The level mode tests the true capacity of your batteries, so you know what they are really capable of.
Characteristics:
0V activation function relives excessively discharged batteries
Internal resistance tests
Automatically selects the best charging current
USB Type-C input port
In the box:
Charger, USB-C cable, manual
Unable to charge protected 21700/20700.
Batteries not included!

I have the second VC8 and broken again, 4 slots just stopped working, display off, no charging
Additionally when supply over 5V USB, the charger seems to struggle and shows wrong values and can't fully charge most of the 18650 (Posted on 04-07-23) - nice Review by Valeriu

But you can use it even for small batteries or NiMH.

With the VC8 I quickly charge the battery of my Fenix PD 36 TAC, it has a 21700 battery (ARB-L21-5000U) with integrated charging chip, the charging speed is approximately 1.3A while with this Xtar VC8 I can go to 2A or 3A
To get to the speed of 3A you need a latest generation USB power supply but I'm using a 5-port Anker and with it I can only charge at 2A but that's fine anyway.
The price of this VC8 charger is good, the USB-C cable is provided (length: 80 cm) I like it because I can select various charging currents including 250 mA which is useful for small batteries like AAA or 16340 (Posted on 08-09-21)

Do not try to charge lisoci2 cells (like saft ls14500 or tadiran sl-760) this are not rechargabel cells and will explode if you charge them
